Chapman Company was founded in December 1994 as a division of J. H. Jones, Inc. by T. Randall Jones. The company is a manufacturer’s representative agency serving North & South Carolina and Eastern Tennessee. The Chapman Company was created when Walter I. (Buck) Chapman decided to close his business and Randy Jones was looking for an opportunity to become a manufacturer’s rep. The company currently has offices in Mt. Pleasant and Lexington, South Carolina and Charlotte and Raleigh, North Carolina.

Chapman Company has evolved into an organization providing specialty products in the commercial HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical markets. We have represented a number of manufacturers for many years including The VMC Group vibration isolation & seismic restraints, Car-Mon welding & vehicle exhaust systems, Retroaire replacement thru-wall air conditioners, and Thermacor Process pre-insulated piping. In the spring of 2004 we also began representing Brimar, Inc for pipe markers, and PHP Systems & Design for rooftop supports for pipe, duct, and equipment, and in the fall of 2005 we took on Twin City Hose. We have selectively added these lines to round out our offering.

We were very fortunate to have the late Russ Holder, P.E. from Charlotte, NC join us in 1996. Russ brought 40 years of experience in our industry and was an expert in the seismic restraint business.

In 2002 we added Mike Sturkie as an associate in Lexington, SC to better serve the Greenville Spartanburg area. Mike is also a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a BS in Civil Engineering. He has over 25 years experience in the mechanical and plumbing industry.

In 2005 we added Ken Tursam, PE as an associate in Raleigh, NC to better serve our customers in eastern North Carolina. As our business is growing we are growing right along to maintain the same level of service our customers have come to expect. Ken has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from NC State, is a licensed professional engineer, and has an extensive background in design and manufacturing.

In 2007 we added Darren Pallesen as an associate in Charlotte, NC to focus on the Greensboro and Winston-Salem area as well as help with the increasing opportunities in the Charlotte and Asheville markets. Darren has a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

In 2008 we added Chad Bryant as an associate to be able to increase our customer service in the Charlotte market. Chad comes to us with a solid background in fire protection, industrial tools, and fastening systems including epoxy systems, mechanical fasteners, and strut systems. Chad has Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance University of Central Oklahoma. Also in the fall of 2008 Kyle Martin came on board to help service the Myrtle Beach market as well as the electrical market in the low country of South Carolina. Kyle is a graduate of the College of Charleston with a bachelor’s degree in Corporate Communications and has been in the construction industry for many years. Kyle has proved to be a great addition to the team.

Philip Runyon has been assisting Randy Jones in the Charleston office since the fall of 2009. Philip is a graduate of Clemson University with a bachelor’s degree in Construction Science and Management and a Masters degree in Business Administration. Philip grew up in the field while working for a mechanical contractor through high school and college so he is able to bring some practical knowledge to help service our customer’s more efficiently.

As we focus on specialty markets, desire and strive to be the experts at what we do, and take pride in the customer service we provide we are expanding our coverage in the eastern Tennessee area as it relates to Seismic and Vibration Isolation materials and engineering. Our goal for success is to be our customers most dependable and reliable source for the products we represent.

We look forward to serving you in the near future.
